During lockdown I spent a lot of time in my garden and out walking. These photographs show how interested I became in the close detail of plants. I chose to display them in black and white as I felt they show better the rather sombre mood most of us have been experiencing in this troubled time.

All these photographs were taken this year during or after lockdown. There were opportunities for pictures in my garden during lockdown and during a few Covid safe trips when restrictions eased. There is no theme but just some images that may be of interest.

One of my favourite photographers is Elliott Erwitt. He manages to capture humour in his work which I have tried to emulate in my own. It’s up to the viewer to decide. If I have made you smile I’m happy!
Eight pictures taken from within my flat, some from lockdown, others from earlier.
The other two from Carlisle Castle show carvings done in the 15th century by prisoners who had rather more serious lockdown problems.
